What is Space Station 13?Space station 13 is a deception game taken place onboard a space station owned by a megacorporation thats bordering on being its own government entity. It is very similar to Trouble in Terrorist Town and players may choose from around 45 jobs to play as all with unique mechanics and gameplay, while a select few percent of the crew are selected to be Antagonists, their goal to stop the operations of the space station or whatever else may be required of them and are given a unique set of abillities and equipment to do so, they might be shapeshifting aliens, rival corporations with smuggled equipment, or part of radical cults with real magic.
How do I join?
Download byond from byond.com or if its down https://files.catbox.moe/6zmmyw.zip
Let it download into the default directory it wants to, but if you don't have space there it should be fine to move it
You can join the server as a guest without an account
One its finished downloading and you are done registering load up byond (it should launch on start but may not appear, access it through search bar or the arrow button and click on the logo)
Paste the server IP (byond://ss13.soyjak.st:8888) into your browser search bar and allow it to take you, you can use Ctrl + O in byond then paste the link into the top box then press "OK",
You have joined the server, click setup character to make a character, then join game to pick a job, anything else you can press O to ask the entire server a question or F1 to ask an admin a question/report someone posting 'p

A: Just get on the server, choose a job and learn from there, ask for help or make admin helps for anything specific you need. You can also try watching dedicated JewTube tutorials, but I don't believe there are many good ones.
Q: Can I be a chudcel bigot and risk getting banned?
A: Yes, you can be as chuddy as you want on this server compared to other real woman Station 13 servers. Feel free to say noob as much as you'd like.
Q: What codebase is this server running?
A: Modified monkestation source with extra features with antags like cado.
Q: How do I get the game on Linux?
A: BYOND (https://lutris.net/games/byond/). Install the version listed as "Byond 516 build with the Microsoft Edge Webview2 replacment for IE11." Make sure you download the Evergreen installer from here since Lutris will need it to play SS13. Microsoft Edge WebView2 | Microsoft Edge Developer (https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/Microsoft-edge/webview2).
The game might sperg about how there aren't unique UIDs for you, but that shouldn't be an issue. It should run mostly fine, I think.
Q: Can I use a VPN to play?
A: Yes, it is allowed.
HOW DO I SET UP MY CHARACTER?
1. Your character's name, the three dots on the side are for alternate names, such as your cyborg and AI name, or clown/mime street name and you can change those too.
2. Below the character button is an option to rotate your sprite, select a different species (the paw option), the species panel will tell you the lore and quirks of that species, but all aliens are valid to be discriminated against and are not protected by Station Robots. And the third option is to change your gender.
The buttons on the side with blue backgrounds are clothing and hair options, here you can choose your stubble and its color. The top option is your backbag, satchels make you quicker but hold less, backpacks are medium, and dufflebags hold alot but make you very slow
3. Some fluff, such as your age as it appears in records and your flavor text, which is what people see when they examine you.
4. Loadout, cosmetic items you can buy with metacoins
5. Occupations, this allows you to choose the job you try to get if you're in the game lobby, the more to the right the button is the harder the game will try to give that job to you, command slots and AI rolls before other jobs, so even if you have cargo tech on high and captain on low, if nobody else wants captain you'll become the captain.
6. Antagonists, here you opt into being able to be selected to play as an evil character
7. Quirks, traits unique to your character, some are neutral, but you need to take some negative ones to get good ones, you don't have to do this.

Don't mass grief as a non antag for no reason and please avoid killing new players, if you want to do something extremely evil but didn't get antag request permission to do so in AHELP, this rule will likely be changed later but since 90% of the players will be trying out the game for the first time its going to be a thing for the playtest.
